Description:
Seeking a Project Manager to provide the project control and contract administration necessary to manage a high volume, multiple task processes for a large, diversified team so that the cost, schedule, and quality requirements are tracked, communicated to the Government, and ultimately attained while working closely with the Program Manager leading tasks. The Project Manager shall provide real-time monitoring of status/deliverables, tracking the quality of work products and gauging overall customer satisfaction. Specifically, the Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing contractor operations for Life Cycle Logistics (LCL) support of conventional ordnance weapons systems and components of the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD) to be located near Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake in Ridgecrest, CA. NAWCWD is a key organization within the Naval Air Systems Command, dedicated to research, development, acquisition, testing, and evaluation of weapons and warfare systems for the U.S. Navy operating primarily in China Lake and Pt. Mugu, CA. China Lake is used primarily for testing guided missiles, advanced weapons, and weapons systems. Pt. Mugu is for electronic warfare expertise, supporting missile, free-fall weapons, and electronic warfare system testing. NAWCWD also emphasizes workforce development, employing thousands of scientists, engineers, and military personnel to maintain cutting-edge capabilities in areas such as hypersonics, directed energy, autonomy, quantum sciences, and cyber defense.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need of employer sponsorship now or at any time in the future
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance level Secret
- Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts Degree in engineering, computer science, or information systems.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a DoD (military, civilian, or contractor) leadership role with at least five (5) years of experience in engineering management ans supervision of project tin systems engineering or the design of or field service of naval command and control, communication systems.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- 1. Communicate effectively with the customer as well as internal employees
- 2. Successfully lead a team of more than 15 employees in a dynamic/unpredictable environment
- 3. Bring structure and the ability to influence the internal workforce
- 4. Effectively problem solve and manage risks, anticipating and managing issues that are both present and emerging
- 5. Knowledgeable of acquisition policies and procedures. Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with the requirements of the DOD 5000 series.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrate leadership experience leadership experience with DoD Life Cycle Logistics (LCL) tasking.
Security Clearance:
Applicants may be required to have an active security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance as specified in the minimum qualifications. Selected candidates will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain a DoD government-granted security clearance. Individuals will be subject to a background investigation to include but not be limited to, criminal history, employment and education verification, drug testing, and creditworthiness.
