Job Position: Engineering Technician II
Job Location: Norfolk, Virginia
Task Requirements:
- Perform necessary repairs/replacements so that all net and fence assemblies are in the as built configuration.
- Perform inspections of each barrier.
- Inspect the navigation light mountings and repair/replace.
- Perform necessary repairs/replacements to mooring buoys.
- Perform necessary repairs/ replacements including but not limited to: In-situ coating repairs & De-watering and patching flooded pontoons or buoys.
- Assist Lead Engineering Technician.
- Occasional requirements for overtime work in order to meet operational schedules and may have occasional require for extended travel in order to meet operational schedules.
- Upon completing qualifications, will be expected to take on technical lead assignments supporting day-to-day operations, interact with Government and civilian support contractors.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by Lead Engineering Technician and/or Program Manager.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be a US Citizen
- Valid Driver License
- Must be able to perform mechanical maintenance actions and operate a forklift as part of assigned duties.
- Experience in the use of electronic test equipment and operation of various handheld power tools.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
- Ability to utilize computer including Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to lift/carry items up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships, professional demeanor, and attitude.
- Must be dependable.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Extensive travel may be required.
