Job Position: Financial Analyst III
Job Location: Naval Base, San Diego, CA
Summary: The Financial Analyst is a Lead position and is responsible for performing complex financial analysis, developing financial models, and providing strategic insights to support decision-making within the organization. This role requires an advanced understanding of financial principles, data analysis, and forecasting techniques. The Financial Analyst plans, directs, coordinates and analyzes accounting and other financial activities of a branch, office or department and ensures the efficient and skilled use of resources. They are also responsible for recommending alternative methods of funding to meet financial program objectives.
Required Experience Within 8 Years:
- Recent Navy shipboard financial management experience including experience as OPTAR Financial Records keeper.
- Experience generating Budget OPTAR Report (BOR) and Financial Transmittal (TL) report; and other monthly financial reports.
- Familiarity with Government-wide Commercial Purchase Card Program (GCPC) and GCPC Cardholder regulations and processes.
- Experience utilizing RSUPPLY, One Touch Supply (OTS) and other relevant Supply and Logistics systems.
- Knowledge of programs documenting familiarity with Military Standard Requisitioning and Issue Procedures (MILSTRIP) and Military Standard Transaction Reporting and Accounting Procedures (MILSTRAP).
- Experience processing monthly Obligation Validation Report (OVR), and Difference Listings (DL) designed to emulate the Summary Filled Order/Expenditure Difference Listing (SFOEDL).
Required education/skills background:
- SECRET Clearance is required
- Bachelor’s Degree, no specific discipline
- 8 plus years’ experience in financial analysis, accounting, or related roles.
- Proven experience in financial forecasting and budgeting.
- Proficient using Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Strong attention to details and organization skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships, professional demeanor, and attitude.
- Must be dependable.
- Strong time management skills.
- Ability to delegate tasks and workloads to employees.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
- Office environment
- Travel may be required.
- Ability to sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to perform repetitive monition (keyboarding)
Compensation and Benefits:
Position type: Full Time
Classification: Exempt
Hours to Work: Monday through Friday, eight (8) hours per day. Evenings or weekends may be required as job duties demand. Hours are subject based on the needs of the squadron.
Base Rate: $61-85,000 year
