Job Position: Financial Systems Analyst (Multiple Levels)
Job Location: Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division (NSWC PHD)
Summary:
The Financial Systems Analyst will support the Financial and Program Management Support Services (FPMSS) team for the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Port Hueneme Division. This role provides professional financial analysis, tracking, and reporting to support multiple branches, divisions, and projects.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Possess advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including linking and embedding multiple spreadsheets, developing/manipulating pivot tables, and creating/editing macros.
- Work independently, providing financial analysis and tracking for multiple branches, divisions, and projects.
- Develop budget analyses, recommendations, and present findings to branch, division, project, and department management.
- Communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in written reports.
- Process and integrate data using established business practices and approved Department of the Navy (DON) software applications.
- Support processing of incoming and outgoing funding documents.
- Verify the accuracy of accounting data within business and financial systems.
- Coordinate with departments and branch personnel to gather and review supporting documentation for fund management.
- Conduct follow-up actions for funding documentation and ensure packages are complete, organized, and appropriately stored.
- Assist program analysts with tasking and work assignments.
- Analyze, extract, and identify significant trends and issues from financial spreadsheets.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Current SECRET Security Clearance.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Ability to maintain professional working relationships and demeanor.
- Dependable, with strong time management skills.
- Ability to remain seated for extended periods (50% of the time) and alternate between sitting, standing, and walking.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Navy financial and administrative systems and procedures.
- Experience with N-ERP reports and modules
Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
- Primarily office environment.
- Ability to sit for long periods and perform repetitive motion (keyboarding).
- Noise levels are usually moderate but may be loud near aircraft parking areas.
Financial Systems Analyst I – $ 56,264.00
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics or business administration
- Experience: No professional experience required
Financial Systems Analyst II – $62,920.00
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics or business administration
- Experience: Three (3) years of professional experience in a related field
Financial Systems Analyst III – $70,720.00
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics or business administration Experience: Seven (7) years of professional experience in a related field
Financial Systems Analyst IV – $80,000.00
- Education: Master’s degree in finance, accounting, finanical management or information systems
- Experience: Ten (10) years of professional experience with financial management
Compensation and Benefits:
Position type: Full Time
Classification: Exempt
Hours to Work: Monday through Friday during standard business hours; additional hours as needed to fulfill position responsibilities.
