Job Position: Lead Network Support
Job Location: NAS North Island, CA
Description:
Provide operational support services to the Commander Naval Air Forces Pacific Fleet.
Task and Responsibilities:
- Provide assistances to users with IT issues regarding NMCI Computers/services/printers, trouble calls to include software, Computer, Proxy settings and Web Browser, and Network issues, printer mapping and other software such as Microsoft Office 2016, Outlook, Roxio, Adobe Acrobat. Document and share resolve processes and write standard operating procedures when needed.
- 3Oversee and supervisor N61 contract employees in the Initiation of Move Add and change request to include moving of IT service from one location to another, software moves from one computer to another, printer moves, and network drop activations, track and monitor from beginning to end of the Mac process. Coordinate with COMPACFLT CTR and NMCI Technicians and The NMCI Helpdesk.
- Oversee and supervisor N61 contract employees User account creation to create new user account requests at check-in or move account requests for users with NMCI accounts. Ensure users account moves and updates to reflect current command and location with correct command name and address and phone number. New Account Net Buildouts, Logical Move MACs, and Account profile update MACs.
- Track and actively be involved in computers life cycle tech refresh for COMNAVAIRPAC HQ acting as a Liaison between refresh coordinator and COMPACFLT CTR. Address all issues that occur during refresh, make daily reports to COMPACFLT CTR and Inform N61, Ensure Asset Records Net Database is up to date for machines scheduled to be refreshed to include asset custodian names, and physical location of Computer asset PSI, Building, Floor, Room and Network Drop number.
- Oversee and Supervise with COMNAVAIRPAC Department ITPOCs to conduct annual wall to wall Inventory, of Computer Assets, Software, Printers. Assist with issues and upcoming events or projects, Tech refresh, new equipment, Features such as DLA Multifunction Devices. Provide Standard Operating procedures for users to follow on various IT functions mapping a printer, setting up PST files etc.
- Oversee and actively maintain and update Inventory in Net Database to include Custodian, Computer Assets, Software, Printers, Special CLINS services etc. Pull reports to verify inventory for each department at COMNAVAIRPAC work closely with asset manager and ITPOC’s.
- Oversee and supervise users and N6 Contract employees with ensuring DLA Contracted printing equipment and other peripherals are always functional, this will include reporting issues to DLA Vendor, or NMCI for printer network connection issues. Maintain and update Printer device inventory in the Net Database.
- Manage user permissions, with Active Directory, Security Groups, File Share Folders, and Shared Distribution lists, along with monitoring and maintaining Shared user space. Working closely with COMPACFLT CTR’s, NMCI and CNAP IT staff, ensure user proper access to resources they have been authorized to access.
- Create and submit Order justification forms (OJFs) for New NMCI Services for CNAP HQ’s via NParts. Select correct CLIN Numbers and quantities and obtain proper approval, in accordance with COMPACFLTs order mode cycle. Monitor to ensure services and installed. Update net
service ids with the proper user, computer, with correct user information, location of new service ordered.
- Develop agenda and represent the N61 holding Quarterly ITPOC meetings to coordinate and provide IT services information to COMNAVAVIRPAC Departments, send out meeting Invites, manage relevant agenda items, disseminate important information to ITPOC’s, keeping track of who is in attendance, send out meeting minutes for tracking purposes.
- Maintain awareness with current technology innovations and offerings provided by NGEN/NMCI service to ensure COMNAVAIRPAC users have current and viable technology solutions in place for completing day to day work and to ensure mission readiness.
- Process request for new equipment and services by submitting an ITPR procurement and purchasing requests using the NAV-ITAS system, providing Items descriptions and detailed justification, for service contracts and IT equipment purchases work with N6 budget manger to ensure procurement and purchases are made in accordance with ITPR approval.
- Work alongside the N61 Division officer and meeting with N6 leadership for weekly tasking, meetings, and report on status of projects and tasks completion, bring up roadblocks and issues needing senior leadership’s attention.
- Coordinate with NAVWAR/NIWIC and the COMNAVAIRPAC Security Manager identify and document new SIPRNET Network Infrastructure requirements. Draft Preliminary Drawing Requirement (PDR) and submit to NIWC for approval and concurrence to build SIPRNET Infrastructure with Protective Distribution System (PDS). Once the SIPRNET Infrastructure has been installed. Coordinate with NIWC and arrange for site visit leading to certifying the new installation.
- Work closely with COMPACFLT CTRs to order and cancel NMCI Services, to have changes made to Network Infrastructure, and to provide VIP services to Command Executive leadership to include COMNAVAIPRAC Admiral and Flag office staff, and SES/ACOS Executives.
- COMPACFLT ECHIII Authorized submitter for Flank speed Migrations, account creation, Permissions, Groups, Distros. New User Set up.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
- Must be U.S. Citizenship
- Current DoD Secret Clearance
- Associate Degree from an accredited college/university; may substitute five (5) years of relevant professional work experience (in addition to the experience described below) for the associate degree requirement.
- Shall have five (5) years of experience working with the following:
- NMCI (or equivalent) systems (Hewlett Packard Service Manager (HPSM), NMCI Navy Enterprise Tool (NET), and Seat Resource Management (SRM), account creation and oversight of the Move/Add/Change (MAC) process, supporting NMCI contract.
- Strong oral and writing skills to work closely with all levels of personnel involved in IT operations and technical aspects of systems.
- Demonstrate sufficient knowledge and experience to apply a methodology to projects that have well-defined requirements and deliverables.
- Proficient using MS Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook)
- Excellent problem solving, decision-making and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent customer service as well as written and oral communication
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Position type: Full Time – Exempt
Pay Range: $117,776-$153,113 per year
Hours to Work: Monday through Friday
