Job Position: Travel Clerk II
Job Location: Virginia Beach, VA (Oceana-VFA-106)
Summary:
VCT is seeking a Travel Clerk II to support Commander, Naval Air Forces (CNAF) Squadron Administrative Support Services by providing administrative and travel coordination assistance. This role is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and processing travel authorizations, vouchers, and reimbursements in accordance with company policies, government regulations, and contract requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform general clerical duties, including answering telephones, greeting visitors, operating office equipment, and responding to inquiries regarding office procedures and policies.
- Maintain office files, including receipt, control, distribution, and proper filing of incoming and outgoing correspondence; ensure accurate recordkeeping and proper records disposal.
- Maintain tickler files to ensure timely submission of recurring reports.
- Process command travel requests and generate travel authorizations in the Defense Travel System (DTS) for active duty and government service employees.
- Perform duties as a Non-DTS Entry Agent (NDEA), including reviewing and submitting travel documents in DTS.
- Conduct briefings on travel policies, procedures, regulations, government travel card usage, and authorized reimbursable expenses.
- Build and generate reports using DTS and Citi Bank systems.
- Serve as a Citi Bank Agency Program Coordinator (APC), ensuring compliance with government travel card policies.
- Activate and deactivate Government Travel Charge Cards (GTCC) for personnel departing for or returning from official travel.
- Create DTS profiles and GTCC applications for newly assigned personnel during command check-in.
- Perform routine office tasks such as filing, data entry, copying, and record maintenance using standard office software and equipment.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Site Manager and Assistant Site Manager.
Required Qualifications:
- Must possess an active Secret Security Clearance or be able to obtain and retain one.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Experience and/or familiarity with one or more of the following systems is desired:
- Defense Travel System (DTS)
- Command Pay/Personnel Support System (PASS)
- Navy Standard Integrated Personnel System (NSIPS)
- Transaction Online Processing System (TOPS)
- Master Military Pay Account (MMPA)
- Electronic Service Records (ESR)
- Navy Family Accountability and Assessment System (NFAAS)
- Official Military Personnel File (OMPF)
- NAVFIT98 (FITREPs/Evals)
- PERSTEMPO, SHARP, BOL Document Services
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to maintain professional demeanor and effective working relationships.
- Dependable with strong time management skills.
- Must be able to remain seated for extended periods (approximately 50% of the time) and alternate between sitting, standing, and walking as needed

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
- Primarily office environment.
- Infrequent work in hangar or flight line areas, which may be noisy.
- May be exposed to moderate environmental conditions such as heat, cold, or wind.
- May be required to wear personal protective equipment when entering hazardous areas.
- Ability to sit for extended periods and perform repetitive motions (e.g., keyboarding).
- Noise levels are typically moderate but may be loud near aircraft parking areas
Compensation and Benefits:
- Position Type: Full-Time
- Classification: Non-Exempt
- Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, eight (8) hours per day. Evenings or weekends may be required based on operational needs.
- Base Rate: $18.72
- Health & Welfare: $4.93 per hour
